Accessibility statement

How Handlet approaches accessibility under the Equality Act 2010 — honest WCAG posture, no false AA claim.

Effective date: 9 September 2026

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Accessibility at Handlet

HANDLET LIMITED (“Handlet”) wants people to be able to use our website and product. We design and build with accessibility in mind, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing programme rather than a one-off certificate.

What the law expects of us

As a UK service provider we must make anticipatory reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010 so disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when using our services.

We are not a public-sector body under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (PSBAR). PSBAR’s mandatory WCAG statement rules therefore do not apply to Handlet directly. We still use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our practical technical benchmark for product work, because it is the standard commonly used to judge whether reasonable adjustments have been made.

If we supply services under public-sector contracts that impose PSBAR-equivalent requirements, we will meet those contract terms separately.

How accessible Handlet is today

We have not completed a full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance audit of the whole product. We therefore do not claim that Handlet “conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA” or that we hold a VPAT/ACR.

What we do have today:

  • Design-system interaction and accessibility checklists for priority controls.
  • Automated and Playwright accessibility coverage on priority journeys (inbox, pricing, selected admin communications, , , , and quote-widget embed primitives).

AI Assistance: Handlet uses AI for intent recognition and, where enabled, drafts, summaries, quote support, social content and call assistance. AI output can be wrong and should be checked before use. Learn More

accessibility-statement
  • Engineering remediations on high-traffic surfaces (marketing shell skip link, legal hub links, privacy forms, quote-widget labels/focus/errors/prefers-reduced-motion, settings Legal hub discoverability).
  • Ongoing remediation through product stories rather than a single big-bang retrofit.
  • Known limitations (honest current posture):

    • Some dense data tables and commercial insight charts may be difficult with screen readers or keyboard-only navigation until alternative text / tabular summaries ship.
    • Third-party embeds (payment, CRM, advertising consoles, map tiles) inherit those vendors’ accessibility limitations.
    • PDF or exported reports may not meet WCAG when generated for download.
    • Mobile native app accessibility is tracked separately from the web product.
    • Quote-widget embeds on trade websites inherit the host page’s theme; Handlet remediates the embed chrome we control, not the host site.

We do not claim Cyber Essentials certification on this page.

    Reasonable adjustments

If you need information in a different format, or you find an accessibility barrier:

    • Email: [email protected]
    • We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and to tell you what we can do (for example larger text, alternative format, or a guided walkthrough of a flow).

You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) or the Equality and Human Rights Commission for advice about the Equality Act.

    What we are doing

    • Remediate barriers found in design-system and journey accessibility tests on a priority basis.
    • Prefer shared UI primitives with consistent focus, labelling, and touch-target patterns.
    • Treat accessibility regressions as release defects on covered journeys.
    • Produce a fuller conformance assessment (and a VPAT/ACR if enterprise customers require one) before claiming AA conformance.

    Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 9 September 2026 and updated the same day to reflect the engineering remediation pass on PR #3269. It will be reviewed at least annually and whenever a major release changes core navigation or forms. External counsel sign-off on this wording remains pending.
