Commercial Terms

Pricing, seats, renewals and support for your Handlet subscription

Last updated: · Document ID: LEGAL-005-001 · Version 1.0

This addendum explains the commercial terms that apply to your Handlet subscription, including pricing, user seats, renewals, and support expectations. It is designed to be clear and easy to understand for small service businesses.

This document works alongside the Handlet Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and billing policies. If there is any conflict between documents, the Terms of Service take precedence.

1. Purpose

This addendum provides a consistent framework for how Handlet subscriptions work commercially. It explains: how pricing works; what counts as a seat; how renewals operate; how pricing changes are handled; and what support customers can expect. The aim is to keep pricing simple and predictable for small trade businesses.

2. Subscription Structure

Handlet is provided as a subscription service. Subscriptions may be billed monthly or annually (where available). The subscription provides access to the Handlet platform and its assistant features. Handlet acts as a digital office assistant designed to help service businesses organise customer communication, quotes and follow-ups so work is not missed.

3. Seat Licensing

A seat represents one person who has access to the Handlet platform. Examples of seats include: the business owner; office staff replying to customers; technicians or staff reviewing messages or quotes; team members supporting communication with customers. Seats are counted when a user has login access to the system. Seats are intended for individual users and should not be shared between multiple people.

4. Base Licence

Each Handlet subscription includes one seat for the account owner. This allows the business owner to access the platform and manage messages, quotes, and reviews.

5. Additional Seats

Additional users may be added to the subscription. Each additional seat costs 10% of the main licence price.

Examples (current pricing):

  • Handlet Standard — Licence £75/month: Seat 1 included, Seat 2 = £7.50/month, Seat 3 = £7.50/month, etc.
  • Handlet Pro — Licence £185/month: Seat 1 included, Seat 2 = £18.50/month, Seat 3 = £18.50/month, etc.

Seats can be added or removed through the account settings. Changes take effect from the next billing cycle. For a plain-language guide to what counts as a seat and how to use Handlet with your team, see our Seats & multi-user access guide.

6. Unlimited Seats Option

Businesses with larger teams may choose an Unlimited Seats add-on. Unlimited seats cost 35% of the main licence price per month.

Examples (current pricing):

  • Handlet Standard (£75/month): Unlimited seats add-on = £26.25/month.
  • Handlet Pro (£185/month): Unlimited seats add-on = £64.75/month.

Unlimited seats are intended for teams working within the same operating business.

7. Organisation and Acceptable Use

Seats and subscriptions are intended for users working within the same organisation or operating business. This may include: employees of the same business; the owner and team members; contractors working directly for the business; multiple services or trading names operated by the same organisation. For example, a business offering window cleaning, gutter cleaning and exterior cleaning may use the same Handlet account across those services if they are operated by the same organisation.

8. Restrictions on Resale or Multi-Business Use

Handlet subscriptions may not be resold or sublicensed. Examples of prohibited use include: agencies providing Handlet access to multiple client businesses; reselling Handlet access as part of a bundled service; sharing seats across multiple unrelated businesses. Where multiple independent businesses use Handlet, separate subscriptions may be required. This includes franchise networks where each franchise operates independently, agencies managing separate client companies, and organisations using Handlet across separate business entities. Handlet reserves the right to request separate subscriptions if usage patterns indicate access is being provided to multiple independent businesses.

9. Billing and Payment

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Charges may include: the base licence subscription; additional seat charges; unlimited seat add-on (if selected); and applicable taxes (such as VAT). Invoices are generated automatically and sent to the account email.

10. Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Monthly plans renew each month on the same billing date. Annual plans renew every 12 months. Customers may cancel at any time before the next billing date. Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current paid period.

11. Price Changes

Handlet may update pricing in the future. If prices change: customers will receive at least 30 days notice; the new price will apply from the next renewal date. Existing subscriptions will not be changed mid-billing period.

12. Discounts

Handlet may offer discounts such as pilot programme pricing, early adopter pricing, or annual billing discounts. Discount rules: discounts apply only where explicitly stated; discounts may be time-limited; discounts cannot normally be combined. Existing customers will retain agreed pricing until renewal unless otherwise stated.

13. Support Expectations

Handlet provides support to help customers successfully use the platform. Support channels may include: email support; help documentation; in-app assistance. Typical response times are: general questions within 1–2 business days; technical issues prioritised depending on severity. Handlet does not provide formal enterprise service level agreements (SLAs) at this stage.

14. Fair Use

The platform is designed for small service businesses and trades. Customers agree not to: misuse the seat model to avoid legitimate licensing; provide platform access to unrelated businesses; or operate Handlet as a reseller service. Handlet may review accounts where usage appears inconsistent with normal use.

15. Updates

Handlet may update this addendum from time to time. Where changes affect pricing or billing behaviour, customers will receive advance notice.
